I hate to report this is very "normal" for all insurance companies. Your carrier and the carrier of the person that hit you will do the same thing. They will price out the cheapest parts to fix your car. It gets worse. The insurance carrier will also make sure that you do not go to the dealership for the repairs. You have to go to a body shop that has a "reasonable and necessary" labor rate. Insurance companies argue that the dealership hourly rate is much higher the average body shop in your area and therefore it is unreasonable. They only owe for reasonable expenses, so you will be holding the bag. It does not matter that you have auto collision coverage and full coverage. The insurance company will fight you over this.

In addition there are many local junk or salvage yards at your disposal. The great part is that the price is almost always lower, and it is delivered to you the same day. The downside is there are no guarantees on used parts. Although many reputable yards do provide a replacement or refund in case the part doesn't perform satisfactory, the time replacing it again is lost.

There is usually a better warranty with a 'never been driven before' car. The cars warranties generally only lasts for a certain amount of time. It is not always still valid by the time the car is resold. Another reason, is even if the warranty is still effective, certain car problems may no longer be covered once the car is resold.

junkyard in my area Junk yard jewels. I have a buddy who likes to go to the junk yard to find replacement parts for his vehicles. He doesn't always find what he wants, but he has been able to pull several starters off from some of the junkers. Some work, some don't while others may work for awhile and then crap out a few months later. If you have plenty of time and luck is on your side then this can be an option for you.

Once again be sure that you get the exact part that you need. Junkyards don't have money back guarantees nor do they offer warranties and have return policies. You don't want to lose money over this and surely you don't want to waste your time.

So you have your parts what next? In Short you have two options you can go once you have gone to your local Auto Salvage Yard and have purchased the necessary used auto parts that you require.

Saturday was a big day. We got up early and started with the Pancake Breakfast at the dealership. The pancakes and the sausage were yummy! Then buy car parts from junkyard attended the first chapter meeting of the year held upstairs in the dealership. There were a lot of people at the meeting. At the end of the meeting a man named Paul made an announcement about the ride planned for the afternoon. I wasn't thinking it was a particularly good day to go on a ride. Just riding to the dealership earlier that morning was very cold. Too cold. Brrrrr!
